I. The problem with Pharaoh, as well as many people today, is that of
PROCRASTINATION
A. Pharaoh said TOMORROW
1. The Bible says we may not have a tomorrow.
2. James 4:13-17
a. In other words: If you KNOW it is wrong to do something and
you do it anyway, it is a sin.
b. If you KNOW it is wrong to go to a club, drink alcohol and
dance, it is a sin.
3. We need to be extremely careful -- James 4: 14a
4. Pharaoh asked for one more night with the frogs.
a. He asked for tomorrow.
b. Give me one more night, and THEN I will let the people go
and worship God.
5. Are we like Pharaoh? Are we asking for tomorrow? We ask too
much!!
B. The way to Heaven is Simple.
D. You may only have this one single day left in your life.
E. See Here is Water!!
B. The Parable of the Rich Fool
1. Luke 12:16-21
2. This man THOUGHT he was set for many years.
a. He was prepared for a ton of tomorrow's.
b. He had it all worked out in his own mind.
3. He, though, did not HAVE any tomorrow's. Luke 12:20
a. All his worldly preparation was gone -- in one night!!
b. All of it was gone to waste.
c. He was set for years to come -- eat drink and be merry --
d. Where did it go?
e. HE DIED before tomorrow ever came.
4. Many young people believe they have their whole lives ahead of
them.
a. They feel that death is of no concern for them.
b. They cannot see the point in what the wise man wrote so long
ago.
i. Eccl 12:1-2
c. There are so many examples of young people who have died
thinking they had many tomorrow's.
i. I'm sure that many of you know a young person who died at a

ii. The Bible says that our lives are but a vapor -- James 4:14
"Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is
your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little
time, and then vanisheth away"
iii. 2 Pet. 3:10 teaches that the Lord will come as a thief in the
night "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the
night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great
noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the
earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."
5. Jesus warns us about worrying about tomorrow
a. In fact He commands us not to worry about tomorrow
.
b. Mt. 6:25-33
c. Heb. 3:7-11
d. Here we see a need to look at today and today only.
i. We can prepare for tomorrow, but do not need to be as the rich
fool
ii. Remember Mt. 6:33
iii. Put the Lord first not our physical possessions and desires.
C. Two more examples of procrastination from the Bible - Felix and
Agrippa.
1. Acts. 24:22-25
a. Felix was afraid
b. But he was not scared enough
c. His response to the preaching of Paul was one of procrastination.
i. "When I have a convenient time"
ii. As far as we know Felix never had a convenient time to become a
Christian.
iii. He put off till tomorrow what he should have done today.
iv. Tomorrow may be too late.
2. Agrippa -- Acts 25:22
a. In Acts 26, Paul recounts his conversion, beginning on the road to
Damascus.
b. Then Paul preached to Agrippa -- Acts 26:24-29
c. Almost is not good enough.
i. I've always been told, "Almost only counts in Horse shoes and hand
grenades."
ii. We all know the familiar song - "Almost Persuaded"
iii. How chilling the last verse is.
Almost persuaded - harvest is past
Almost persuaded - doom comes at last
Almost cannot avail - Almost is but to fail
Sad, Sad, that bitter wail - Almost, but lost
d. Almost doesn't get it done.
D. Pharaoh said TOMORROW
1. Felix said at a more CONVENIENT time
2. Agrippa said ALMOST
3. Were any of these saved?
We read from Heb. 3:7 "Today, if you will hear His voice,"
There are SOME PEOPLE WHO HEEDED THE COMMAND - SOME WHO TOOK
ADVANTAGE OF TODAY AND SECURED A PLACE IN HEAVEN FOR THEIR
SOULS.
II. Those who took advantage of Today.
A. Zacchaeus
1. Lk. 19:1-10
2. Zacchaeus took advantage of Today - vs. 8
3. Salvation was granted by Jesus in vs. 9
B. Then there was Lydia
1. Acts 16:14-15
2. This woman's heart was opened to receive the word of God.
a. When she received it, she obeyed it.
b. No Delay
c. No Tomorrow
d. Right now
C. The Philippian Jailor
1. Acts 16:25-34
2. This man HEARD what to do to be saved.
a. He brought his entire household in to hear these words.
b. They all believed these words.
c. Acts 16:33
i. IMMEDIATELY
ii. He never quibbled about being baptized.
iii. He never argued about doing it today
iv. He didn't ask for tomorrow
v. He was baptized IMMEDIATELY
vi. He understood the urgency of salvation.
D. The Ethiopian Eunuch.
1. Acts 8:26-40
2. Philip taught this man the way to go to Heaven.
a. The Eunuch didn't say anything about being baptized tomorrow.
b. They came upon some water and he got excited about being
baptized RIGHT NOW !!!!!
Conclusion:
A. Now, I want you to use your imagination.
1. Imagine this very room filled with FROGS.
2. You can't move without stepping on one.
a. You can't sit without clearing your seat.
b. Once you do sit down, they climb all over you.
3. Now imagine someone standing in front of you who has the power to
take it all away -- IF, you will obey the voice of God !!!!
a. What would your answer be?
i. Would it be TOMORROW?
ii. For many people, that is just exactly what the answer is -
"TOMORROW!!"
b. Many people answer - GIVE ME:
i. Just one more drink instead of eternity with God.
ii. Just one more smoke instead of hope of a life in Heaven.
iii. Just one more party doing things to satisfy the lusts of the
flesh.
iv. One more drug to shoot in my veins or snort up my nose.
v. Just one more night of passion, lust and fornication.
vi. Just one more night of earthly pleasure.
vii. JUST ONE MORE NIGHT WITH THE FROGS !!!!
c. It all leads to not just one night, but an eternity in HELL.
d. What is your answer?
i. Is it, "Come back when I have a more convenient time?"
ii. Is it, "Almost persuaded?"
iii. Or is it, "What must I do to be saved?"
iv. Or "See, here is water. What hinders me from being baptized?"
1. You must first HEAR the word of God.
a. Rom. 10:17 "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the
word of God."
b. You've heard it today
c. But that is not enough
2. You must BELIEVE what you have heard and put your faith and trust
in it.
a. Rom. 10:10 "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness;
and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation"
b. But not even faith is enough.
c. James 2:14-18
3. You must REPENT of your sins.
a. Acts 17:30-31
b. As essential as repentance is, even that is not enough.
4. You must confess you faith in Jesus Christ as the Son of God.
a. Rom. 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus,
and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead,
thou shalt be saved"
b. Confession is not enough.
c. Mt. 7:21-23
5. To be added to the body of Christ and obtain salvation, you must be
BAPTIZED in His name.
a. Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every
one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and
ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
b. Mk. 16:16 "He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he
that believeth not shall be damned."
c. You can be baptized for any number of reasons -- but unless you did
it out of faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, you just got wet.
6. Still it doesn't stop there -- Baptism is just a beginning of a new life.
a. You must continue as a Christian, striving for a life with Christ.
b. God does not expect perfection -- Rom. 3:23 "For all have sinned, and
come short of the glory of God"
c. He just expects us to obey His will -- to do our very best.
d. Rom. 12:1 "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God,
that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto
God, which is your reasonable service."
1. You may never have another opportunity to obey the Lord before either
you die or He returns.
2. Do not be as Felix and put it off till a more convenient time.
a. Those times never come
b. Jms 4:14 "Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is

3. Young people and old people alike -- none of us are immortal.
a. We shall all die!!
b. It happens every day.
4. What will it take for you to come to the Lord?
a. Will it take your death?? -- Then it will be too late.
b. Will it take hearing Jesus say, "Depart from me, I never knew you!!"
-- You know it will be too late then.
5. Do not wait till tomorrow!! -- Tomorrow never comes!!
The whole congregation is waiting to pray for the erring brother.
