Jerry Henderson Family

This family began with the marriage of Jerry Lonnie Henderson and Dorothy Evelyn Black on May 18, 1963 in Sheffield, Alabama.

Jerry was born in Itawamba Co. Mississippi to Conard Webster and Ovie Viola (Towery) Henderson. Dorothy was born in Tuscumbia, Colbert Co. Alabama to Grady Lee and Dorothy Lee (Willingham) Black.
Jerry has worked as a full time Gospel preacher since 1971. He has preached in several different states. Jerry now preaches for the Thorn church of Christ in Thorn, Chickasaw Co. Mississippi. Dorothy is a happy homemaker and has worked on the family genealogy since 1978. She is putting all of her records on the Family Tree Maker program.

Jerry and Dorothy have four children: Daniel Lee, Mary Elizabeth, Jeffrey Scott, and Timothy Ray.

married Melton on November 22, 1984 in Sheffield, Colbert Co. Alabama. JoBeth is the daughter of Glenn and Jo (Smith) Melton.
Dan and JoBeth have four wonderful children: Rachel Lee born in 1986, Rebekah LeAnne born in 1990, Ruth Leah born in 1993, and Isaac Lee born in 1993.
Dan preaches for the Milam St church of Christ in Jasper, TX.

On September 23, 2008, Dan & JoBeth's oldest daughter, Rachel, married Andrew Armitage in Jasper, TX. Andrew is the youngest son of John and Carolyn Armitage.

Mary Elizabeth works at Macy's in Collierville, Shelby Co. Tennessee and attends Powell Road Church of Christ and teaches Bible Classes as opportunity permits.

married Anne Gautney on June 5, 1993 in Center Star, Lauderdale Co. Alabama. Tonya is the daughter of James and Kathy (Kennedy) Gautney.
Jeff and Tonya have two wonderful boys, Jonathan Levi born July, 1997, Benjamin Eli born April, 2000, and Laura Ashley born December 2002
Jeff is currently preaching for the Perry Hill Road church of Christ in Montgomery, AL.

married Maria Burney on December 15, 1995 in Florence, Lauderdale Co. Alabama. Anna is the daughter of Jackie and Anita (Hargrove) Burney.
Tim and Anna have a wonderful daughter Brooklyn Nicole born 1998. Their son Austin Bryce was born in 2005.
Tim, Anna, Brooklyn and Austin live in Wellsburg, West Virginia, where Tim preaches for the Wellsburg Churh of Christ.

You will also find Matthew Allen, the son of Sam and Donna Allen, included on these web pages. Matt is a fine gospel preacher that Jerry and Dorothy refer to as their "son". Matt preaches for the Brownsburg church of Christ in Brownsburg, Indiana. We have "claimed" him as our "son" since we lived in Malvern, AR in 1978. Matt married Becky King in June of 1994, they have a daughter Emilea born in 1996 and a son Zackary born in 2000.
